Fusion Interiors was asked by Steve Eccher, Architect, to stage a gorgeous new contemporary home for the parade of homes event in Durango Colorado in September 2013. Steve was the Architect and Mark Galbraith was the General Contractor. Local businesses Artesanos, Urban Market and Azadi Rugs were extremely generous in lending us most of the furnishings you see pictured here. This entry won five of the top awards in the Parade of Homes event! It was a fun collaborative experience!
Steve Eccher, Architect, designed this gorgeous home in La Plata County Colorado. Here is one exterior shot the day of the Parade of Homes event, showing the Main entrance.
This Guest Bath tile work is gorgeous and the red and green contrasting plant accents enlivened the space.
We found a stash of old Popular Mechanics in a box which was a fun surprise for the staging project! These magazines are from 1959 and in perfect shape! Most other accessories are from Urban Market of Durango Colorado.
Azadi Rugs of Telluride generously lent us two hand made Tribal rugs from their collection. It was a perfect background to the white and orange leather pieces lent to us from Artesanos of Durango Colorado. The quilt is hand made by the owner and provided a serendipitous accent for the end of the sofa!
This bookcase was completely empty of all objects except for boxes. We were able to use artifacts from the owners' trips to create the accents and filled it out with books and our faux greenery. Balance and composition is key here!
Urban Market lent us most of the accessories for this Parade of Homes staging project. We found these blue vases without knowing the owner also have a few of the same shade of blue! The shelving was bare until we arranged these for the show; also note the lemons for more color pop in the back.
Here is another example of using color to create visual interest and capture the eye as people walk through. Reds and oranges contrast nicely with the existing color palette.
It is amazing what can be found at TJ Maxx on a moments notice. We scored on this bamboo tree, the perfect accessory for the dining room corner!
Sarah has been a delight to work with. From the get-go she "caught" the flavor of design we liked and this wasn't easy. We like scandanavian design, but, aren't locked into this exclusively. We found her to be an excellent listener, organized, and efficient. We have worked with Sarah once before and it was this positive experience that led us back to work with her again. To me, that says a lot!
